Animal Rescue Flights (ARF) wanted a new approach to recruiting volunteers for their nationwide organization. Rather than using recorded footage that could be costly to film and might also make it difficult for volunteers to visualize themselves in these positions, a mixed-media video was created. Stills of actual locations were intertwined with graphics that allowed for relatability without being too specific to animals, places, or volunteers. The result was an inexpensive yet effective way to communicate ARF’s needs and the life-changing work they do.
Creative Brief & Storyboard
After completing initial research into ARF's program and our target audience, an initial concept for the animation was developed and translated onto a storyboard.

Graphics & Illustrations
Characters and scenery were created, edited, and combined in PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator utilizing multiple layers to allow for individual animation effects. Scenes gradually progress from drab greys to bright colors as Doggo gets healthier and more confident. Fourteen individual scenes were created for the animation.
